Dr. Yasemin Uçan studied German, Italian, and Educational Science at the Ruhr University Bochum. Subsequently, she worked as a research associate at the University of Kassel and Paderborn. At the Mercator Institute, she is currently part of the joint initiative Transfer of Language Education, Reading and Writing Support (BiSS-Transfer). In her PhD, she focuses on multilingual childrearing in migrant families in Germany. Her research interests lie in the areas of multilingual families, parenthood in migrant families, and language biographies.
