Ina Kaplan studied German philology and applied philosophy (B.A.) and communication science (M.A.) at the University Duisburg-Essen. Afterwards she worked as a research associate in different projects regarding writing competencies and German as a second language at the University Siegen and was teaching in the module German for students with migration history. She holds a doctorate in German didactics on Attitudes of student teachers on linguistic and cultural diversity in school. At the Mercator-Institute she is a research associate in the research project on writing in elementary school within the federal/state initiative Transfer of Language Education, Reading and Writing Support (BiSS-Transfer).
