Cedric Lawida holds a teaching degree for secondary schools in German and Dutch (Master of Education) and completed his practical-teacher-training in 2020 (Zweites Staatsexamen - 2nd state examination). During his studies, he worked as a student assistant and tutor in the linguistics department of the Institute for German Language and Literature I (IDSL I) at the University of Cologne. In this context, he coordinated the junior research project Sprache im Labor - Language in the Lab funded in the rectorate program Innovation in Teaching from 2017 to 2019. In addition, he was a lecturer for Dutch at the Volkshochschule Köln (adult education) from 2018 to 2019 and a lecturer in linguistics at IDSL I in winter semester 2020/21. Since January 2021, he has been working at the Mercator Institute in the Department of Language and Profession, where his work focuses on the teaching and research of online tools for the planning and implementation of language-sensitive teaching. Since the beginning of 2022, he has also been working in the Department of Language and Education System in the initiative Transfer of Language Education, Reading and Writing Support (BiSS-Transfer). He is particularly interested in the role of multipliers and digital media for the success of the transfer of language education measures.
