Antonia Schmidt studied psychology at the Radboud University in Nijmegen in the Netherlands. She then completed her master’s degree in Health and Social Psychology in Maastricht in the Netherlands. A large part of the master consisted of methods regarding the effective implementation of interventions, mostly concerning behavior change within the context of health promotion programs. For her master thesis she investigated the relationship of the best-possible-self writing exercise, which is known to increase temporary optimism, and negative cognitions such as the negative interpretation bias.
In several jobs during and after her studies she was able to get to know the educational system. For instance, as a project consultant conducting potential-analyses with eight graders within the scope of the initiative Kein Abschluss ohne Anschluss.
Since 2021, she is part of the joint initiative Transfer of Language Education, Reading and Writing Support (BiSS-Transfer) as a research associate.
