Iris Günthner has been a teacher of biology and German since 2006. From 2011 to 2016, she worked as a teacher for special tasks at the Institute for Biology and its Didactics at the University of Cologne. There, among other things, she developed language-sensitive teaching materials for inclusive science teaching with students for WDR (Planet Schule) and was a biology practical semester representative until 2016. In 2012, she completed her doctorate externally at the Institute of Biology and its Didactics; her research focuses on humans' perception of nature in the big city. Since 2016, she has been working as a teacher for special tasks in the teaching and research unit DaZ at the Mercator Institute. Her field of activity is language-sensitive science teaching.
