Daniela Wamhoff studied German, German as a Second Language and Art at the Universities of Cologne and Osnabrück for the teaching profession at grammar schools and comprehensive schools. During her studies she spent one semester at Tver State University (Russian Federation) and was an intern in the language department of the Goethe-Institut Moscow. Furthermore, she was employed as a research assistant at the Mercator Institute and gained practical experience as a tutor for German, English, Latin and mathematics at different institutes for about ten years before and during her studies.
Since WS 2017/2018, she has been working as a research assistant at the Institute for German Language and Literature II and at the Mercator Institute. Among other things, she coordinates the Vacation School as part of the Language Education Cooperation Project.

In her doctoral thesis, she is working on language comparisons in the context of multilingualism as a means of promoting implicit and explicit language knowledge.
