Christoph Gantefort first studied special education in Cologne and then completed a postgraduate course in German as a foreign language at the University of Bonn. He holds a doctorate in educational science on bilingual textual competence. His work focuses on multilingualism, language-sensitive subject teaching, language diagnostics, professionalization and evaluation research. At the Mercator Institute, he heads the department of Language and Professional Development.
