Dr. Monika Socha studied literature and German studies in Bielefeld and Łódź and received her doctoral degree in literary studies from Bielefeld University. During her studies, she worked in various editorial offices. She then co-curated an exhibition at the Günter Grass House in Lübeck and completed a traineeship in the editorial department of the lit.COLOGNE literature festival in Cologne.
Since 2014, she has worked as an editor in the education sector. Dr. Monika Socha has been working at the Mercator Institute since 2017, where she co-developed the Methodenpool for language-sensitive subject teaching and wrote method concepts for it. Since 2019, she is working as an editor for the initiative Education through Language and Literacy (BiSS) and continues this activity for the follow-up project Transfer of Language Education, Reading and Writing Support (BiSS-Transfer).
