Andrea Becker studied German and Psychology at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf. After graduating (Magister Artium) she moved to the University of Cologne to the Institute for German Language and Literature I Older Language and Literature and worked there from 2007 to 2009 as a research assistant.

She then went into the free market economy, where she worked in health management in the areas of corporate communications, press and PR as well as event and project management from 2009 to 2023. Her areas of responsibility included, among other things, the independent organization of a private medical congress with up to 600 participants, as well as the independent project management for a specialist doctor network and an association for managers of medical care centers.

Since June 2023, Andrea Becker has been working as a communications manager at the Mercator-Institute in the initiative Transfer of Language Education, Reading and Writing Support (BiSS-Transfer) and also supports the public relations department.

In addition, she is active in the field of project management and supports the federal-state initiative Transfer of Language Education, Reading and Writing Promotion (BiSS-Transfer) in coordination and administration.
